Today, Hero Spotlight highlights Anthony Fauci. Scientist. Advocate. BIG TIME Hero.
Many may recognize the 71-year-old world’s leading authority on infectious diseases through the daily White House COVID-19 briefings.
After all, Mr. Fauci is the expert in infectious diseases as the man has dealt with infectious disease challenges for the past 40 years.
As mentioned on USA Today, diseases he has studied include malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, the Middle East respiratory syndrome, the severe acute respiratory syndrome, dengue fever, and Ebola – 40 years later, he is challenged with COVID-19.
Who else would be a better fit to lead the world through such an eventual historical moment?
Anthony Fauci has an extensive background, from joining the National Institutes of Health in 1968 to being an important advocate of ending the AIDS epidemic in the United States through HIV antiretroviral therapy, as stated by USA Today.
He has even been involved in writing/editing over 1,100 articles, textbooks, etc. In the medical profession, he is one of the most cited authorities throughout.
Although Anthony Fauci has earned much credit for his expertise, to the extent of earning the Presidential Medal of Freedom and a Lasker Award, he is still a humble human being looking to only help humanity.
For example, anytime he was invited to make speeches in Washington or Capitol Hill, he would choose the Metro over a car and driver. According to USA Today, “He is readily accessible to those who need treatment — he still runs a lab at NIH — or need information.”
This scientist and role model is usually running from place to place daily, according to Science Mag. Between his office, his home, and the White House to meet with the COVID-19 Task force and attend briefings – Anthony is a busy hero to say the least.
Even with all this responsibility on his plate, he donates his time to humanity without any hesitation. A selfless hero looking to better the world a task at a time.
For that, the country thanks Dr. Fauci and his efforts in making a change and leading humanity through this eventual historical event.
